We Built the Resource We Wished Existed
How personal experience, an unexpected partnership, and a shared vision became the YHA! Ecosystem.
When I started Lisa Malone Professional Organizing in 2020, I was helping clients organize their entire homes. Most were working women with children, balancing careers, family responsibilities, and the countless details involved in keeping a household running.
I began noticing a pattern.
When we discussed where to begin, my clients almost always chose spaces that supported someone else. The kitchen, the children's bedrooms, family living areas, or other spaces that made daily life easier for their husbands and children.
Their own closets were usually last. It wasn't that their closets didn't need attention. There was simply always something or someone else who came first. And I understood that instinct because I had been that woman, too.
What surprised me was what happened when we finally reached her closet. By then, we'd often transformed much of the house. But something about organizing her personal space created a different kind of change.
I could see it in her energy, the way she approached getting dressed in the morning, and even her outlook on the day ahead. She could see what she owned. Getting dressed became easier. Her mornings felt less overwhelming. And for once, she had a space that was organized around her needs.
Sometimes her husband, who had initially questioned the need to organize his own closet, would see the transformation and decide he wanted the same experience.
But what stayed with me wasn't the beautifully organized closet. It was the change I saw in the woman who used it. That's when I realized that closet organization was more than a practical service. It could be a meaningful starting point for helping women feel more confident, capable, and connected to themselves.
I knew this was the work I wanted to focus on because I recognized myself in the women I was helping.
And as I began concentrating on closets, I discovered something else. An organized closet could make a remarkable difference, but it couldn't answer every question a woman had about her wardrobe.
Some clients wanted help deciding what to keep because their personal style had changed. Others asked me which clothes looked best on them or how to put outfits together.
They weren't just asking for organization. They were asking for guidance that extended beyond my expertise. I began to understand that the closet was often where the conversation started, but it wasn't necessarily where the need for support ended.
An Unexpected Connection That Changed Everything
Around the same time I was starting my organizing business, another woman was building a business of her own. Her name was Batul Sadiq, and she was developing her personal styling business.
We were both being interviewed for a podcast featuring women business owners. Afterward, Batul reached out to the other interviewees, hoping to connect with fellow entrepreneurs. I was the only one who responded.
Neither of us could have known that one simple connection would eventually become the foundation for something much larger. As we talked about our businesses, we discovered that our clients were asking us for complementary services.
Batul's styling clients often wanted their closets organized after she helped them edit their wardrobes. My organizing clients frequently asked me for style advice while we were sorting through their clothes. We were each being asked to provide expertise that naturally belonged to the other's business.
What started as a conversation about supporting each other's clients revealed a bigger opportunity. Our services weren't competing. They were complementary.
A woman could benefit from both, and connecting those services could create a more complete experience than either of us could offer independently. That realization became the beginning of our collaboration and, eventually, our business partnership.

From Collaboration to a Bigger Vision
As Batul and I explored ways to work together, I began thinking about how many other services might fit into this same picture. Personal style and closet organization were an obvious connection, but they weren't the only ones.
A woman reconsidering her wardrobe might also benefit from understanding which colors complement her features. She might want to simplify her makeup routine, become more intentional about shopping, or rethink the physical design of her closet.
Each area offered something valuable, but the challenge was knowing where to begin and whom to turn to next.
I started asking myself a different question. What if we could connect all these areas of expertise instead of expecting women to find every solution on their own?
That question brought me back to an important part of my professional background.
How My Microsoft Experience Shaped the Idea
Before becoming a small business owner, I worked as a Partner Account Manager at Microsoft. That experience taught me to recognize the value of business relationships, complementary expertise, and the opportunities created when organizations work together toward a shared goal.
In the technology world, an ecosystem brings different businesses, products, services, and capabilities together to create value that would be difficult for any one participant to deliver alone.
I began looking at the challenges women faced with their wardrobes and personal confidence through that same lens. The expertise already existed. There were talented personal stylists, color consultants, beauty professionals, closet designers, and professional organizers. There were practical resources and useful products that could make everyday life easier.
But the pieces weren't necessarily connected. Women often had to search across different websites, businesses, and recommendations to find the right combination of guidance.
And even when they found someone who could help, they might not realize that another type of expertise could make an equally meaningful difference.
I could see the potential for something more connected. A platform that brought together trusted advice, practical resources, thoughtfully recommended products, and professionals with complementary expertise.
A place where women could explore their needs, discover possibilities, and find the right next step without having to navigate everything on their own.
That became the vision for the YHA! Ecosystem.
Understanding Both Sides of the Connection
Becoming a small business owner also gave me a perspective I hadn't fully appreciated during my corporate career. I discovered how challenging it could be for talented professionals to gain visibility, even when they offered excellent services. Having expertise doesn't automatically mean the right people will find you.
Small business owners invest tremendous time and energy in building their businesses, sharing their knowledge, and trying to reach potential clients. Many are doing exceptional work but don't have the marketing resources or visibility of larger organizations.
I began recognizing two sides of the same challenge.
Women needed an easier way to discover relevant guidance, resources, and professionals. Small businesses needed meaningful opportunities to connect with the women who could benefit from their expertise.
What if one platform could help bring those needs together?
Not by promoting everything to everyone, but by creating a more intentional environment where women could discover solutions relevant to their lives and professionals could become more visible to the people they were best equipped to serve.
The idea was familiar from my Microsoft experience, but the purpose was deeply personal. We weren't simply connecting businesses. We were creating connections that could help women move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
Bringing the YHA! Ecosystem to Life
As our vision developed, Batul and I identified six areas of professional expertise that naturally connect to a woman's experience with her wardrobe, personal style, and everyday life.
Closet Organization: Professional organizers help women edit their wardrobes, organize their belongings, and create systems that make getting dressed easier and more enjoyable.
Personal Style: Personal stylists help women define their individual style, build versatile wardrobes, and create outfits that reflect who they are today.
Color Confidence: Color consultants identify personalized color palettes that complement each woman's natural coloring, helping her confidently select flattering clothing, accessories, and makeup.
Makeup + Beauty: Beauty professionals provide personalized guidance on product selection, flattering colors, application techniques, and creating makeup looks that complement personal style and everyday needs.
Intentional Shopping: Boutique owners and high-end consignment businesses offer thoughtfully curated clothing and accessories, helping women discover distinctive pieces, shop more purposefully, and build wardrobes they love.
Closet Design: Closet designers create customized storage solutions that maximize space, improve functionality, and transform closets into beautiful, organized environments.
Together, these six areas of expertise became the foundation of the YHA! Ecosystem, connecting women with complementary professionals who can support different aspects of their wardrobe and personal confidence.

We didn't choose them because we wanted a website with more categories. We chose them because they represent connected parts of a woman's experience.
Someone might begin by organizing her closet and discover that understanding her personal style is the next step. Another woman might feel confident in her wardrobe but need a better-designed space to support it.
There's no single starting point, and there shouldn't be a prescribed path. The purpose of the YHA! Ecosystem is to help women find the next step that makes sense for them.
One Connected Experience, Different Ways to Begin
Once we understood the areas we wanted to connect, we began thinking about how women would interact with the platform. We wanted You Have Arrived! to offer more than articles to read or products to browse. We wanted women to have different ways to explore, learn, and take action based on what they needed at that moment.
That thinking shaped four ways to engage with the YHA! Ecosystem.
Learn brings together practical advice, expert perspectives, and information to help women better understand their options.
Take Action provides guides, quizzes, and resources that turn ideas into manageable next steps.
Shop introduces thoughtfully recommended products that support more intentional choices.
Experts connects women with professionals whose knowledge and services can help them move forward.
These aren't four unrelated destinations. They're different ways to access support within one connected experience.
A woman might begin by reading an article, use a guide to clarify her needs, discover a helpful product, or decide she's ready for professional assistance. She can explore at her own pace, without feeling that she needs to change everything at once.
And for participating professionals, the ecosystem creates opportunities to share their expertise, build visibility, and connect with women whose needs align with the services they offer.
The connection works in both directions, but the woman's needs remain at the center.
Building Something That Can Grow With the Women We Serve
One thing I've learned through my own experiences is that confidence isn't something we establish once and never revisit. Our lives change. Our priorities shift. Our bodies, schedules, careers, and personal preferences evolve. What worked beautifully five or ten years ago may not be what we need today.
I don't believe every transition requires a complete reinvention. Sometimes we simply need the right information, a fresh perspective, or someone with the expertise to help us see a different possibility.
That's what we want You Have Arrived! to provide.
A woman might visit because she's frustrated with her closet today, then return months later because she's reconsidering her personal style or planning a closet renovation. The YHA! Ecosystem can support different needs at different times, while continuing to introduce her to useful ideas, resources, and professionals.
And as our professional community grows, so does the opportunity to bring more relevant expertise into that experience. We know that building a resource like this is an ongoing process. We'll continue learning from the women who use it and the professionals who contribute to it.
The vision isn't to have every answer ourselves. It's to make it easier to find the right answer, resource, or person when you need one.
Why We Built It
We created You Have Arrived! because we believe women deserve more than scattered advice and disconnected solutions. They deserve a place where they can explore what's possible, find practical guidance, and connect with people who understand what they're trying to accomplish.
We also believe that talented small business owners deserve opportunities to be discovered for the expertise and value they bring.
When those two needs come together, something more meaningful than a collection of resources becomes possible. A community where women can find their next step, professionals can share their expertise, and everyone has an opportunity to move forward.
That's the ecosystem we wished existed. So we decided to build it.
